Christians, just finished a study on Revelation. I now believe most of that book was about the first century?

I've heard it, but how can it be true? Jesus never returned for His people. He hasn't set up His kingdom yet. What are the days we are living in now then? Sin still exists doesn't it? Evil has not yet been destroyed. Re-read the book if that is your conclusion. Ask God to help you understand what is written.
