Trying to look at iplayer and message states that shockwave flash has crashed on google chrome?

on IE at the moment but everything very jerky and freezing up same as g chrome.apparantly a lot of people are having the same problem since shockwave was updated.if i do a system restore will that help to go back to shockwave before update.
