Whats the best computer for me?

Alright so im gonna be startin back up at school here in the spring time and im gonna be studying graphic arts and web page designing. I currently have an asus laptop. Im just wondering if i need to upgrade for my future career choice. Im deciding if a mac or pc is better and which brands and models would best suit my needs.
